🐝 You’re Invited: Join The Bee Hive at Redwood Classical Academy
Dear RCA Families,
We’re excited to welcome RCA families to a new learning initiative: The Bee Hive—a weekly co-op day centered on shared learning, rich ideas, and faith-filled fellowship. As homeschooling parents, we recognize the importance of gathering regularly with like-minded families to encourage one another and pursue academic excellence together. With this vision at heart, The Bee Hive was born!
🗓 When & Where:
Wednesdays, 10 AM – 3 PM
30 weeks during the academic year
Hosted at Redwood Classical Academy
(Start date and location details to follow)
🐝 What is The Bee Hive?
A cooperative learning day designed to enrich your homeschool journey through (read full list descriptions here):
Morning Devotion & Scripture
Church History
Math Games & Logic
Grammar & Narration
Inquiry & Imagination (Nature Lore, research, and journaling)
Notebooking & Reflection (Centuries, and Book of Firsts)
Our primary teaching resource will be The Alveary curriculum (by the Charlotte Mason Institute). No specific curriculum is required at home to participate. The courses offered on Wednesdays, give enrolled students a fuller and more complete experience of the Alveary’s "feast" of subjects. Math lessons, written narrations, copywork, dictation lessons, and more poetry are the suggested subjects at home.
For older students, readings and narrations for Ancient History and a second U.S. History selection is suggested. A weekly review of current events—encouraging discussion with their families to connect real-world topics—is highly encouraged to complement in-class learning. Families may also choose to include Architecture lessons and foreign language as part of their home studies.
🙌 Participation Details:
🐝 This is not a drop-off program by an academic work day — parents attend and contribute by serving in some capacity. This is for enrolled RCA families only.
🐝 No tuition required, though some fees may apply to help with insurance, facility costs and or supplies. This is yet to be determined and will be discussed as interest is gauged.
🐝 Minimal to no homework — This is a structured learning school day done together as families. All learning is intended to take place in person, with occasional narration or research projects to be encouraged.
If you’re looking for a Christ-centered, literature-rich, and community-supported day to enhance your homeschool week, we’d love to have you join us!
📩 Do you have questions? Do you like the idea? Check out website: www.redwoodclassicalacademy.com/thebeehive
If interested, please fill out contact form on the website by July 12th.

Dear Redwood Families,
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Redwood App—a powerful tool designed to make school-home communication faster, easier, more consistent, and more effective. We’ve been working behind the scenes to ensure you stay informed and feel connected within our growing community.
Why We’re Excited
The Redwood App brings everything you need into one convenient place:
🗓 Community Calendar & Enrichment Events
📢 Instant Announcements & Alerts
📝 Weekly Classroom Highlights
📊 Important Documents & Resources
💬 Secure Messaging with Mentors
How to Get Started
Download the app from the App Store or Google Play:
👉 Link or use the QR code below.
Sign up using the email or phone number you’ve registered with the school.
Explore the features and customize your settings and preferences.
Note: Our app is brand new, and we’re still building out its features and content. Full functionality and additional resources will be rolled out by Parent Orientation. In the meantime, feel free to download it, explore, and enjoy getting familiar with the platform!
Important Communication Update – Please Read
As Redwood Classical Academy continues to grow, we are refining how we communicate to better serve our families. Our goal is to ensure that every concern is heard, addressed, and resolved in a timely and organized way.
Effective June 1, Redwood staff will no longer use personal phone numbers for communication related to school matters. As texting threads have become too lengthy and fragmented, we’ve found this method no longer reliable for school-related conversations.
Moving forward, the Redwood App will be our primary communication platform, and we encourage all parents to begin using it right away. We will no longer respond to text messages regarding RCA. If you reach out via text, you will receive this standard response:
"Please send this to info@redwoodclassicalacademy.com or use the Redwood App by tapping 'Connect' at the bottom, then selecting 'Contact RCA.'"
📞 Note: Redwood Classical Academy does have a main phone number: 314-200-5784. This will be used primarily for Community Day needs (e.g., notifying the school of an absence or early pickup).and for communication from those outside our enrolled families.
Need Help?
We’re here to support you! If you need help setting up the app or have any questions, please contact us at info@redwoodclassicalacademy.com.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We’re excited for all the ways the Redwood App will strengthen our connection with you!
With joy,
The Redwood Classical Academy Team
