Our Statement of Faith:
RCA is unapologetically Christian and weaves our solid belief in Christ as Lord and Savior throughout our curriculum. Our statement of faith can be summarized in the Apostles Creed but is not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. Our faith in Jesus Christ is the hallmark of our program and we ask our families to not only support our statement of faith but to subscribe to it in their daily lives. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality and proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Redwood Classical Academy’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy and discipline, our Board and its members are the final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application in these matters.
Apostles Creed:
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
*that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places
Morning Adoration:
Gathering together is critical to setting the tone for our times together. Such times are vital for communicating purpose, clarifying vision and cultivating community. At RCA the opening liturgy is from 9:00 am to 9:30 am where team members and students engage in the right ordering of the things that they love with the goal being to love God first and foremost with their entire being. The hope of this liturgy is to put Jesus Christ front and center of our day as well as to reinforce the value of Christian virtues and worship.
Practically, we do this by reading from scripture, singing assigned term hymns, reciting creeds (nicene and student creed) and prayer (leader takes student prayer requests and all community ends with the Lord’s prayer). Morning Adoration is concluded by standing to receive a scripture of blessing and signing the Gloria Patri.
our student creed
I am a child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made.
I can learn, think, and create because God has given me a mind to seek truth, a heart to love what is good, and hands to serve others with joy.
I ought to choose what is right, to pursue excellence in all that I do, and to walk in humility, integrity, and kindness.
I will strive each day to be wise in God’s ways, delight in God’s world, respond to Him in joyful service while celebrating with His people. I will make much of Christ with my life.
By his grace, I will.
