winter overnight

Winter Overnight Camp

Dates: Thursday, Feb 27th, 9 AM start - Friday, Feb 28th, 3 PM  RSVP HERE! SPOTS ARE FILLING UP FAST!

Due to the size of the camp, we will only have enough space for Redwood families to participate in this experience. This is our only “closed” enrichment. We will close registration and open a waitlist when we reach capacity.

The Winter Overnight Camp is a nature-focused experience designed specifically for Redwood students & their families.  During our time at Shaw Nature Reserve’s Dana Brown Overnight Center located near Gray Summit, Missouri Botantical Garden educational staff will lead our group into nature and the outdoors, using a science-based curriculum that provides hands-on, experiential learning for all ages. In addition to the provided classes, our group will be experiencing camp! Campfire songs, nature hikes, group games, and camp crafts will all be a part of an unforgettable overnight camp opportunity for the whole Redwood community.

The Dana Brown Overnight Center is a cluster of historic log or post-and-beam structures dating back to the 1800s. They were originally located at various sites within 100 miles of the Shaw Nature Reserve. All historic buildings were carefully dismantled and reconstructed at the Center and modern conveniences were added.  Heat, beds, and bathrooms will make this a comfortable overnight! See pictures here!
